Cannot close pages using the 'x' button
I can’t leave a page by pressing the x. I press and press then I have to shut down or close the page by swiping up. Please help

I have a document open in Pages v15.1 for iOS 26.2.1 and I see no 'x' button. The only document close button is that top most '<' which takes you back to your list of available Pages documents. Since Pages is automatically saving your document as you work, using the '<' button leaves the currently saved document. Then you swipe up in Pages if you are done with the application.
