Re: MacBook Air: Notes Content disappeared,
First: You may want to check whether your Mac is short on memory / storage space.
Eg: a Mac generally needs around 50 Gb free in which to operate smoothly, and carry out all you expect it to..

If so: It is wise to first back-up everything, before you: Free up storage space on Mac - Apple Support
Apple support's online article may be helpful, if your Notes have been accidentally deleted:
Delete a note on Mac - Apple Support
Eg: says
- I"f you delete a note that’s stored on your Mac, it’s moved to the Recently Deleted folder. You can view and recover notes in the Recently Deleted folder for up to 30 days."
"View a recently deleted note
- Go to the Notes app
on your Mac. - Click Recently Deleted, then select the note.
- Drag a note from the Recently Deleted folder to another folder in the sidebar."
