MacBook Air: Notes Content disappeared, Can Time Machine restore?

For some reason, content I had on Notes has disappeared. I do not back up Notes to icloud. Is there a way to access content saved in Notes on Time Machine? This is on a MacBook Air running Tahoe 26.2.

Re: MacBook Air: Notes Content disappeared,

First: You may want to check whether your Mac is short on memory / storage space.

Eg: a Mac generally needs around 50 Gb free in which to operate smoothly, and carry out all you expect it to..

If so: It is wise to first back-up everything, before you: Free up storage space on Mac - Apple Support

Apple support's online article may be helpful, if your Notes have been accidentally deleted:

Delete a note on Mac - Apple Support

Eg: says

  • I"f you delete a note that’s stored on your Mac, it’s moved to the Recently Deleted folder. You can view and recover notes in the Recently Deleted folder for up to 30 days."

"View a recently deleted note

  1. Go to the Notes app  on your Mac.
  2. Click Recently Deleted, then select the note.
  3. Drag a note from the Recently Deleted folder to another folder in the sidebar."
