The Messages app does not work after the Tahoe 26.3 update. Is anyone else having this problem?
When it starts, I am presented with a Sign into iMessage with your Apple Account dialog (which I have NEVER seen before). After signing in, Messages launches but quits with no warning or message and the Sign into iMessage with your Apple Account dialog appears again. And the cycle repeats...
Tahoe is a mess.

I did reinstall Tahoe and it did not help. After talking with a 3rd support person it turns out my Apple ID was flagged for spam so it was blocked from messages. They couldn't or wouldn't tell me when or why it was blocked and I had to submit a request to get it unblocked. I am still waiting for the results of that.
I asked how I was supposed to know my Apple ID was blocked and they did not have a good answer.
rm -rf ~/Library/Messages/* allowed me to restart messages.app
32G M3 Max running 26.3. heavy messages user because teens with iphones. one pasted in a lot of screenshots. messages.app crashed and restarting gives me the restart... pop-up. imessage on iphone is happy. did let the pop-up send report a few times.
I was on a call with support and the recommendation is to reinstall Tahoe which I would rather not do. I see these messages in Console when signing in. Does anyone know what these mean? I replaced duplicate information with (same) to keep this under the 5K character limit

Me too... I can no longer see messages on my MBP M2, which is problematic as I don't want my phone always sitting next to me. Still do not see a proper solution for this and ALL of my apps and iOS Tahoe 26.3.1 is up-to-date.

Having pretty much same issue. Messages that are usually blue, are now green. iMessage on Mac keeps logging me out and closing down. Very frustrating.
The same thing is happening to me on my Mac and now my iPad as well. Everything seems to work on my iPhone.
