Identify which number a contact called from on iPhone

When you look at the list of recent calls, in the phone app, tap the "i" in the little circle to the far right of the call. That should give you the phone number from which they called. This will work whether the person is in your contact list or not.

Refer to the contact list to identify the number used by the caller.
