After updating my Iphone 16 Pro Max to IOS 26.3 yesterday, I am persistently experiencing this issue in Whatsapp.
A black/white - depending on your current displayu setting - space after sending messages to any of my contacts.
I tried resetting the phone, offloading app, resetting network settings and remove/reinstall app.
Issue remains.
Appreciate any help.

Thank you for the update. It sounds like you were able to get the latest update today for WhatsApp that was recently released. It may not have been available yesterday when you attempted to do that.

WhatsApp issued an update yesterday, so you should try that one. Most users have found that updating WhatsApp to resolve a problem with the app is best done by Deleting the app, not Offloading, and then redownloading the app from the App Store. You will need to make sure you have your WhatsApp data backed up. That has been a continual problem with Meta for quite some time when updating their app.
It also may be the case that you did just receive this update from Meta and it includes that bug that will be resolved with another update to the app. There have been 9 updates to WhatsApp in just the last month. Not unusual to see an update that resolves a bug in a previous version that also contains a bug that needs to be resolved in the next version. Kind of like the dog chasing its tail with that amount of updates seen in such a short period of time.

I removed and reinstalled Whatsapp yesterday evening and the issue remains.
Should I wait for the update to be listed on Apple Store?
So far I tried all the options available.

Unfortunately, after a couple of messages back and forth using Whatsapp, the black screen is back!
It was fine immeduately after reinstalling the app, but it appeared again a a few minutes before.
Strangely yesterday, before updating my Ios software from 26.2 to 26.3 everything was working fine.
Any suggestions?
