How does Edge browser compare to Safari and Chrome for Mac?

The Edge browser was recommended for certain websites to function more accurately from my MacBook Pro. What is your experience using this browser? Safari does not always open a link correctly. Gives me some written notice that blocks further movement within a webpage. Chrome seems cumbersome to me.

I always have two browsers running, leaving Safari as the default.

I use Firefox for my main browser for at least a decade, there are updates regularly— I have had no issues

Safari—Webkit as its core rendering engine

FireFox—Gecko Quantum rendering engine

Chrome—Blink rendering engine

Brave uses the Blink rendering engine

Microsoft Edge uses the Blink

Opera uses the Blink

I prefer to have differing rendering engines for comparative purposes, to discern a website issue or a browser issue.

I suggest using Firefox. I have used it for many years on many different versions of macOS and it has never failed me. It is my preferred browser.

That said, I haven't had any issues with Safari, at least not since Monterey was released. Currently using Safari 18.4 on Sequoia; no problems encountered.

BTW, Edge is built on Chromium/Google. I wouldn't even consider using it, much less on a Mac.

There was a time when Safari had issues, largely because some websites were written to work with features only available on certain browsers (e.g. Internet Explorer). But honestly, it's been years since I've had an issue with Safari accessing websites. Which sites do you think will work better with Edge? Who told you that? What problems are you currently having accessing the sites with Safari?

I agree with MartinR. I don't even use Edge on my Windows computer at work.

Firefox, as noted, is well regarded. Also, perhaps consider Brave. It's a Chromium browser without the Google nonsense.
