iPhone 13 app screen background is black after update

Apple will not allow me to post to the original thread.

As a follow up to the trouble with black lock & home screens after update to 26.3:

I went through a couple of low level tech support, then finally got a senior tech on the phone. Turns out that removing the transparency feature fixed the issue. Jeet told me this feature may have been turned on inadvertently as it is an accessibility feature, but the truth is, I removed glassy screens because I didn’t find them desirable or useful. I do not have visual or accessibility issues. I have not turned this feature back on for all the problem it previously caused with the update, but problems arose only after the update to 26.3, to be clear.

For those of you who want to follow the breadcrumbs…

Settings.

Accessibility.

Display & Text Size.

Reduce Transparency.

Turn off if you’re suffering black screens-wallpaper.

**another thing the update did was make my phone unworkable. No calls went through. “Failed Call” To fix this, turn on Airplane Mode for about a minute, then switch it off.

If you have Reduce Transparency turned on in Accessibility settings, turn it off, set Display & Brightness Liquid Glass settings from Tinted to Clear, then turn Reduce Transparency back on.
