Ipad air 5 bright spots, bright highlights

I think it’s unfair of Apple to those who has IPad air 5

Ive seen so many posts in tiktok and reddit about the white highlight that appears small then eventually go bigger…

this is so frustrating becuse i took good care of the device, and it just appeared out of nowhere, the problem is that it’s not on warranty anymore, and repair will prolly cost nearly as much as buying a new one

Fair?

All device warranties, regardless of manufacturer, are obviously time limited; within the warranty period, a hardware or manufacturing defect will be repaired without cost should a fault occur. After expiry of the warranty, repairs must be paid for by the owner. If you have benefit of an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of a repair will be reduced to a small administration fee.

The complaint concerning appearance of bright patches on the screen of an iPad is seemingly more common with models of iPad that use a conventional LCD display - with some models of iPad being more prone to the problem than others. The problem, where seen, is typically attributable to partial delamination of the backlight diffuser layer of the display - typically appearing after several years of use. This is not to say that the problem is itself common, merely that the complaint appears to be more common with some models of iPad.

Apple reportedly uses screens manufactured by LG and Samsung. As to which screens are used with a specific iPad production run - or iPad model - is known only to Apple.

You can establish repair cost in your country/region here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

You can use Apple’s mail-in repair service, or you can arrange repair via the Genius Bar at your local Apple Store or Apple Authorised Service Provider (AASP):

Genius Bar Reservation and Apple Support Options - Apple

For practical purposes, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair.
