Bright patch on iPad Air 5 screen: Will it lead to color distortions and touch issues?

My ipad air 5 screen has a huge bright patch on it. It started few months ago as a small bright spot and kept growing until it occupied the whole middle 1/3 screen . If I kept using it without a screen replacement, will the screen issue get worsen like colour distortions and touch issues?

As described, if you are seeing inconsistencies in the screen backlight, this is most likely caused by progressive delamination of the screen diffuser layer. This is should not affect touch recognition or colour; however, if the inconsistencies are an issue, the only remedy is replacement of the complete iPad screen assembly.

For practical purposes, in lieu of repairing and returning your own iPad, Apple usually exchange the iPad for a renewed/refurbished iPad of the same model and specification. The cost of the exchange is the same as would otherwise be charged for repair. Unless you have benefit of an active AppleCare plan, an out-of-warranty repair while expensive will be somewhat less than the cost of a replacement iPad.

As for out-of-warranty repair costs, Apple offers a fixed-price price repair. You can verify eligibility and cost for your region/country here:

iPad Repair & Service - Apple Support

If you have an active AppleCare+ plan, the cost of repair is reduced to a small excess/deductible fee.
