Change iPhone 8 startup screen to black background?

I have a white iPhone 8 with iOS 16.4.1 and want to change my startup screen from white to black background. I saw a discussion on Stack Exchange from May 2019 that mentioned that Apple had implemented a change to make this possible, but cannot find anything else online about this. Can anyone help me with this? TIA!

What do you mean by Startup Screen? Do you mean the Lock Screen? If that's what you mean, you can easily change your wallpaper to a dark or all black wallpaper. See how to change the wallpaper here --> Change your iPhone wallpaper - Apple Support

This has NOTHING to do with the subject of this thread. But you CANNOT downgrade iPadOS. Downgrading has NEVER been supported. It doesn't matter what version you want to downgrade to. You can downgrade at all.

Hi,

I mean the screen with the Apple logo at startup (some call it the ‘reboot’ or ‘respring’ screen).

Mine has a black Apple logo on white background, and it literally burns a temporary image on my retina at night if turned on in the dark.

I asked AI…and ‘jail breaking’ was mentioned, which is not an acceptable solution in this situation. :-(
