Cellular Software issue on new iPhone 17’s .

I was at the Apple Store last night with a Genius Bar tech . My new iPhone 17 was dropping calls , going from 5G to 2 bars within seconds and back to 3 bars etc . Went to ATT first and they said is not a service issue with them . Apple tech admitted it was “ software issue “ with them . We did the latest IOS update that came out Thursday , 2/12 . He said to “ give it a couple of days “ to see if that update fixed the problem . So, Apple was aware of the cellular connectivity problem .. hence the rush update . I asked him .. so what if that doesn’t work ? He said “ we’ll have to wipe out your phone and start over “ !!

WTH … I will lose all my data on the tons of work Apps I have etc … this is so not acceptable! They’ve got a major problem and loyal Apple customers ( past 20 yrs ) shouldn’t have to be inconvenienced ..

As of this morning … same problem

iPhone 17, iOS 26

I have two iPhone 17 Pro phones, neither have any issue with cellular service. I'm on AT&T as well. And iOS 26.3 wasn't a rushed update as you seem to believe. By chance, do you have a VPN installed on your phone, whether it is used or not? If yes, get rid of the VPN. They don't provide the security you've been led to believe, but they do cause connectivity issues, for sure.

To your assertion that wiping your phone will lose all your data is wrong. Before a phone is wiped, it should be fully backed up. Then it can be wiped, then restored from backup, where all your data will then be restored.
