With 26.3, my wallpapers started appearing upside down.
I have a folder with my favourite photos, and every 15 minutes it changes the wallpaper. I had this for the past 10 years, and in 26.3, some of the photos started to appear upside down.
Anyone else is having this issue?

It's not ideal, and we should;dn't have to be finding solutions to this.
After updating macOS from Tahoe 26.2 → 26.3, the desktop wallpaper engine stopped respecting the EXIF Orientation tag in images. Previously, if an image had metadata saying “Rotate 180,” macOS would display it upright. Now, wallpapers show the raw pixel orientation, so images relying on the tag appear upside down.

Open the photo in Preview application
Rotate it until it looks correct
Go to File >>Export
Choose a different file format like .png and High Quality
Important >> Save as a new file
Then set that exported file as wallpaper.
This rewrites the image without problematic orientation metadata.

There are some known bugs yes.
Duplicate your photos move them to a new folder— different from where they are located now and compare your results.
If necessary rotate the images in the new folder to get them to appear in your in wallpaper oriented correctly...

I don't believe that was the recommendation for a work a round.

Contrary to what Apple may have responded with as to the possible problem and fix - their answer is not going to resolve your issue (as is mine from time to time) because my photo is not stored in an upside down viewing position. The problem has to do with Apple's latest software upgrade. Look fro AI generated / aided answer. For the record. My Home Screen photo has been on my home page for months with no appearance issue until Apple's latest software upgrade. The upgrade is the problem and not how your. photo is stored as is the case with my situation.
Definitely began in 26.3. I use an iCloud album (phots of my dog) that randomly shuffles on wakeup, and this just began happening. For me it only happens when I set wallpaper to "Fill Screen". "Fit to screen" or "Center" doesn't seem to do it.

It’s really getting on my nerves everytime a wallpaper appears upside down.
Happens to me on all setting unfortunately.
I have the same issue and like others, have been using a favourite photos folders for 10-15 years. This is a new problem in Tahoe 26.3.
Suggesting people manually go and open every single photo and export/strip metadata is a ridiculous solution. This is hundreds of photos if not thousands...
Please fix Apple!
I am upset because Apple turned on - auto install, when I had it turned off. I open my computer this morning and it now only updated itself - - my display has an upside down image that nothing I do fixes it. Now, before I teach a class - - I am going to have to figure out if anything doesn't work. ****** No. This is upsetting.

Tahoe 26.3 is worse than Tahoe 26.2. I couldn't open pages, but at least my photos weren't upside down. They took down my comment about problems with Tahoe, we can't even complain.
Thank you Thomas-I couldn't agree with you more. Like the other contributers-I have had the same photo/image as my wallpaper (a beautiful photo of a sunrise) and each time I shut down and restarted my Macbook Air-it would appear as it should-until the latest OS Tahoe update. The issue is with the update, and not with our photos.
Opening our photo(s) in Preview is a step we should not have to take each time we restart our Apple devices.
