External CD drives not working with MacBook Pro M5

I want to transfer my music CDs to my new MacBook Pro M5. Tahoe v26.2 What external CD Drive will work?

I have a fully functional Apple Superdrive (model A1379) CD/DVD drive but can't get it to work on my new laptop.

Have tried 2 other brands: Roomfull, LG - neither work. Both required an adapter (one came with it) but both resulted in a disc needing a paperclip to be ejected.

All, any help appreciated...

There is the 16X OWC Mercury Pro USB 3.2 (5Gb/s) Super-Multi Blu-ray/DVD/CD Burner/Reader External Optical Drive with M-DISC & BDXL Support .

Unfortunately, you pay a lot for the Blu-Ray capability. OWC used to have a much cheaper desktop drive that was CD/DVD only, but recently, that drive has disappeared from their Web site.

You can get the enclosure (only) for $59.99, but then you would need to find and install a compatible mechanism.
