Hello,
I would like to request assistance with removing the Activation Lock from my iPhone. The device was originally purchased by me, but it is currently linked to another Apple ID without my authorization.
This is not Apple Support.
The device could not be linked to someone else's Apple ID unless
- You let someone have physical possession of your unlocked phone (someone who also had access to your Apple Account password, if needed to remove an existing link to your Apple ID).
- You logged into another person's Apple Account (or helped them to log in) – perhaps because that person was a scammer who told you a 'sob story" about needing to "borrow" your phone; or one who promised you access to forbidden apps or content if only you logged into their Apple Account.
In most cases involving such scams, the first thing that the scammer does after seeing that you have taken the bait is to put the phone into Lost Mode. At that point, it is lost to you. Apple will not remove Activation Lock on a device in Lost Mode, and it would be very unwise to pay scammer blackmailers who might demand more and more money, and never release your phone no matter how much you paid.
