How do I force shut down an unresponsive Apple Watch Series 7?

Series 7 Watch will NOT turn off. I have restarted it. I have held the side button and brought up the shutdown screen and can see the power off button, but nothing happens when I press it. Watch appears to be fully broken just as most Apple products break after several years and several updates.

Please don't tell me to turn my watch off, restart my watch, or bring up the shutdown screen - I have tried all of these and the watch will not turn off.

If doing this doesn't work (it restarts the watch after which maybe shut down might work)

Force Apple Watch to restart

If you can’t turn off your Apple Watch or if the problem continues, you may need to force your Apple Watch to restart. Do this only if you’re unable to restart your Apple Watch.

To force restart, hold down the side button and the Digital Crown at the same time for at least 10 seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

... then the next step is to call Apple for service help or take the watch to an Apple Authorized Service Provider.
