High-Pitch Screech After an Update:
When it comes to distorted sounds (such as static), I don't recall coming across a report of a "high-pitch screech" at all. Is it still occurring at this moment, and only in this location? If so, it is likely interference, commonly reported around lighting strikes, power surges, power spurs, and even microwaves. Out side, the utility company may be working on a pole and then the power gets a surge or spur, if and when plugged in and charging.

Apple may not get back to you directly, but the more feedback they receive on this, the more they will know what is occurring, and what bug fixes to include in updates to come.
