iPhone message alerts not chiming intermittently

iPhone air message alerts not chiming and some times they do. More often they don’t. I’ve had this phone about a week now. Is there a fix to it? Or an update to the iOS coming?

I currently have "Allow Notifications" as on, and to receive a chime alert as well as within Banners. When I receive an incoming text everything works as it should. iPhone 14 plus not alerting messages I have a new iPhone 14 plus and have had it about a week or two now. Since I have had the phone my phone has not alerted me to the messages. I have the sound on and even looked in the settings to see if somehow the alert sound has been shut off, everything is turned on. It does not go off for iMessage or some with an android phone. Is there anything else that I could do so my phone will go off when I get a text message?

Do you wear Apple Watch? If yes, alerts for messages will come to your iPhone if it is unlocked or your watch if your phone is locked. They will not come to both at the same time. Read this is you own Apple Watch --> https://support.apple.com/en-us/108369
