I have a MacBook Air 13 from a family member who passed away a couple of years ago. I was able to get into it and turn it on, but it's come up with Activation Lock. The issue is, I don't have access to his phone number, so I won't be able to reset his password. I sent a request to Apple, but they haven't gotten back to me. Is there any way I can still get into the MacBook, with erasing being a last resort?

The reason why I recommend that is because the article contains legal information that might be specific to the country to which that version of the document is intended (en-us = USA, in English). However, we did not set up a legacy contact, so we wouldn't have a key.
