You can. But you probably shouldn't.

The clearance between the screen and the keyboard is quite tight and even the smallest interference may cauyse damage. you can do a quick search of the community to discover many complaints.

Your display on one sealed assembly. Any damage to the screen can only be repaired by replacing the entire display assembly. Based on sad posts here, the cost starts around US$550. Will the maker or seller of a screen protector cover that cost?

I agree with D.I. Johnson, you should not use a screen protector.

Not sure why you would want to. Most MacBook users close the lid when not in use. If you drop it, then the screen protector isn’t enough protection.

The M3 laptops do not have the nano texture screen (that was an option for M4 models), so it is just flat glass that can be cleaned like any glass, with a moist cloth, then dried with a dry cloth. If you want to use a degreaser agent in the moist cloth, prefer one developed for screens, i.e. without alcohol, although that is mostly meant to protect the lifespan of plastics (glass doesn’t care about that).
