Thank you for your input. Today it is worse. The bottom part of my screen now has the lines. I did the Apple diagnostics test and it did not find anything malfunctioning. Attached is a screenshot of my screen now. I did not see the lines on the diagnostic screen.

It appears there is a small crack in the LCD Panel in the lower left. What I see is typical of a cracked LCD Panel. The Display Assembly will need to be replaced, or you can connect & use an external display although the latter does make the laptop less portable).

You can take a screenshot, then view it on another device/display to confirm the lines are not shown in the screenshot which confirms a hardware issue with the Display Assembly.

Usually vertical bands & lines are due to physical hardware issues with the Display Assembly.

You did not provide any photo showing the issue.

You can try booting into the Apple Diagnostics to see if you get those same bands/lines which will eliminate any issues due to software issues. Maybe the diagnostics will produce an error code, but a passing diagnostic result does not mean anything. Only a failing result or seeing the vertical bands/lines on the diagnostic screen is helpful to confirm a hardware issue.
