Clicks when exporting multiple tracks in Logic Pro on Mac mini

Hi. I have a project with some pretty heavily edited tracks. (I cut them with scissors.)

When exporting all the tracks(50+ tracks), clicks appear in random places (not in places where they are glued). If you export several tracks at a time, there are no clicks.

The screenshot shows an example.

  • Export 1 - First attempt to export all tracks. The place where the click appeared.
  • Export 2 - Second attempt to export all tracks. This time, no click.
  • Export 3 - Exporting only the hi-hat track. No click.

I also want to show that there are no cuts in this place in the project.

How can I solve this problem? I've never encountered this before. Before this, I had an Intel Mac.

Are you "exporting" or "bouncing"?

I've had some experiences with clicks before as well but when I was bouncing a project out.

A few things come to mind of what I did;

  • A change in LP12 settings under Audio tab:
    • I increased my I/O Buffer Size to something bigger than 128. You can keep increasing this to see if the clicks disappear.
    • Changed my Multithreading "back" to Playback & Live Tracks. (When I was using my Intel, this was the opposite. I was getting clicks and I had to change this to Playback Only.)
    • There are other settings here that you can play with to increase your buffer range and processing threads to meet the demand.

  • If you're bouncing regions or tracks in place, have you tried changing your Normalization from "Off" to "Overload Protection Only"? You might try it and see.
  • Have you tried bouncing the offending track only and then bouncing the rest separately, then bouncing again the whole thing? This has worked on occasion for me.

Good luck!

Hi. I'm exporting...

  • I tried increasing the buffer size, it didn't help.
  • Multithreading is already set to Playback & Live Tracks
  • I don't have a specific problematic track. Every time I export, clicks appear on different tracks and in different places.

I think it's a M4 performance issue. There are no such problems on a much older Intel processor. The project itself is quite slow due to the large number of cuts. And I think that clicks happen precisely because of the heavy load during the export process. If you export 3-4 tracks, there are no such problems.

Does anyone know how to create a ticket for the Logic developers? I think this issue is within their purview.
