How to cancel a subscription and get a refund for an unintended purchase on iPad?

Hi. I set up a free trial last week for my daughter to use a drawing app on a new ipad. I forgot to cancel it though, and have woken up to £59.99 being taken for the next year. I have now cancelled it but that is only from next year's renewal. Is there anything that can be done? Its a lot of money.

You should have received (or will soon receive) an invoice email from Apple relating to the App/subscription purchase. Within the email will be various links - of which one will be "Report a Problem". Simply cancelling the subscription will not reverse the transaction already made.


Use the embedded link within the invoice email; it will take you a withdrawal form for the transaction - where you can apply to cancel the purchase/subscription. Here you will also find information as to your consumer rights of cancellation.


The withdrawal form and associated information is country/region specific - as withdrawal rights differ by country. Within the UK (assumed from your description), subsequent to leaving the EU, your rights are different to those of EU Member States and other countries - and are generally more robust in your available rights to withdraw or cancel a purchase or subscription.
