Mac Messages blank line shortcut changed in macOS Tahoe

Just noticed (2/23/26) a change in the way Mac Messages adds a blank line to a text. I only recently updated to Tahoe and I tried using the old way I'd done that: option + return. That may have changed some earlier version of macOS (I had still been on Ventura 😊).

In Tahoe, the only way I can get a blank line is control + Enter.

Control + Return does not work.

Option + Enter does not work.

EDIT: Shift + Return (still) works. Never knu that 🤪

Frustrating; different UI, different keys, different devices... for a simple app. 🙄🤷🏻‍♂️
