Has anyone else had success recovering lost data files on an SSD? I recently used iBoysoft Data Recovery by on an old hard drive that wasn't reading on my Mac and it pulled all my lost videos and photos. Has anyone else had any experience with this app? So far I love it! But just want to hear from anyone who has more long term use of it!! Also do you have any tips or tricks?

Why don't you try the app you previously used where you had success?
Besides, most data recovery apps will let you scan a drive for missing files for free.....they just won't let you recover them until you pay for the app or service.
With SSDs, the likelihood of success is very small depending on what has caused a file to disappear. If you deleted the file & emptied the Trash, then you won't be able to recover the file with any data recovery software due to how SSDs work. If the file disappeared because of damage to the file system, then maybe the file's data is still on the SSD, but it likely won't have a file name or path associated with it.
The best way not to lose important files is to make sure to always have frequent and regular backups of your computer and all external media (including the cloud)....usually you want to have two backup copies made using different methods just in case one method or backup has problems.
FYI, there are a lot more new ways to permanently lose access to the data stored on the internal SSD of the recent Macs due to all of the hardware, software, and security changes. It can be very difficult for even an expensive professional data recovery service to recover data from a failing/damaged external Hard Drive these days.....again due to the changes in the hardware.....SSDs, nearly impossible.

Is it an internal or external SSD..?
If external what brand and model #..?
Does the Mac see the SSD in Disk Utility..?
Does the Mac see the SSD on the Mac's USB bus..?
Can you pull and test the SSD in a different enclosure..?
Unlike a failing HDD, data recovery from a dead SSD is impossible.

If you have TimeMachine or any other back up, you can salvage your data, though if you haven't, it's quite hard to recover deleted files. If the your SSD which is not able to read with your iMac, and if you have another Mac or your friends have Mac, try to read it with them. It could be.
I'm not sure about iBoysoft Data Recovery utility.
