I have a iPhone 16 Pro Max and when I take pictures and send them via email, it says them as JFIF images instead of JPG can you help?

I'm sure Jeff is right in that what you're referring to is HEIF. I've never heard of JFIF as compression format for photos. Apple uses HEIF when you share a photo. HEIF uses more advanced compression than JPG and preserves more data in the process, preserving higher bit depths. I'm not sure why you would be concerned about the format when sharing a photo? Wouldn't you want the best option when you share a photo?
