Black App Names on iPhone

Perhaps this will help someone. An apparent iOS 26.3 bug (on iPhone 17 Pro) very randomly popped up last week: all of a sudden my solid color wallpaper turned black and my app names turned from white to black.

Fixed the wallpaper by turning off Accessibility / Display & Text Size / Reduce Transparency, but the black app names was harder to fix. In short, under Wallpaper on the app screen I had to switch from a solid color or gradient to a photo.

Thanks for the information. I’m sure it’ll benefit many community members in the future. This bug has been reported multiple times, but it’s always helpful when community members report their solution.
