How to prevent Face ID activation on incoming calls?

Is there a way to turn off FaceID from activating immediately when I receive a phone call?

I receive around a dozen fake phone calls daily from constantly changing robot numbers that get sent to voicemail from the iPhone, and for some reason this activates the FaceID system immediately when these robots call.

I do not want FaceID to activate unless I personally pick up my phone to answer a real phone call, so I would like to turn this specific part of FaceID off.

This feels like a privacy violation that is also wasting my battery.

See if this is it—

iPhone during an incoming call,

turn off "Attention Aware Features". Go to Settings > Accessibility > Face ID & Attention and toggle off "Attention Aware Features".

Make some changes and compare your results...

To be honest, your question doesn't make much sense.

If the device wakes, no matter what the reason, the true-depth camera will scan to see if it should unlock using faceid. The only way to stop that would be to turn off the option to unlock the device using faceid.

It is not a "privacy violation" as the information isn't transmitted to anyone or anything. it is strictly local to the device, and the amount of battery power consumed is minuscule.
