Keynote,Number and Pages 14.5 update errors

Keynote 14.5, Numbers 14.5 and Pages 14.5 won't update on my new MacBook. It keeps saying it was either refunded or used with a different Apple ID. my Apple ID never has changed and have never had a problem updated anything in my apple eco system. Anyone know if there is a glitch going on?

If you didn't purchase that new Mac from Apple, the reseller may have bundled Pages, Numbers, and Keynote using their Apple ID. If they did that, your Apple ID will not work to update products associated with the reseller's Apple ID.

Also, if this is a used Mac that is new to you, or falsely sold as new, the previous owner may not have prepared it in a manner that eliminated their Apple ID being associated with the Mac or installed applications. That will cause problems when you attempt to install software using your Apple ID during an update.

I bought my M4 Mac mini from Microcenter. It was a new unit from an unopened box.

Unless we're calling Microcenter a 'reseller' now, then this is largely an unhelpful reply.

So I figured this out - the 14.5 version of the software are EOLed. Not sure if OP also moved from an older Mac to a newer Mac, but the migration is likely why I still carried the older versions.

So 14.5 = EOLed.

15.1 = newer versions, that are getting regular updates. The shiny new logos make it an easy distinction from the older.

How Mac OSX doesn't communicate this to the user during updates is baffling. This is MS Windows level of miscommunication and nonsense.
