Some of the adapters I've seen also mention they only work for certain bluetooth versions (5.0-5.4?), and I'm not sure how that relates to my 4th gen Nano or Solo3 Beats.

It doesn't relate to the iPod at all. Your iPod nano does not care about bluetooth since it has none. The version will limit what devices you can connect to the BT adapter. There should no issue with beats headphones in this case if they are recent enough they should support at the very least Bluetooth 5.0.

I have music on my old Nano that I lost during a computer migration years ago, and really want to be able to listen to it again.
