I have family sharing. I want my family to have access to my movies I bought on apple. However, I do not want payment sharing as my family is not a group of children, but rather adults who need to be able to designate other credit cards to cover other purchases. Why is this so complicated? Is there a way share purchases but not payments?
Apple does not explain their reasoning for the payment system but I can see it as being a great way to prevent misuse in sharing things with people who are not at a 'family' level of trust and familiarity.

If you don't want things charged to your payment method, have others add gift cards to their account so that in most cases their personal balance will be used first.
