Equipment in question: iphone 15 pro iOS 26.3 and a MacBook Pro macOS Tahoe 26.3 My music library on iPhone will not sync to my Mac. After three days of reading articles, spending an hour with Apple Support Chat and another hour at an Apple Store Genius Bar, no resolution has been found. Any suggestions? Apple ID is same on both devices and music on iphone has been purchased through itunes and downloaded onto my iphone.

There is no Apple supported way to transfer music from an iPhone to a Mac.
As I recall, part of the development and distribution licensing that took place in the early days of iPods was the prohibition of direct music transfer from the portable device to the Mac. As far as I know there still is no way to move music from an iPhone/iPad/iPod over to a Mac.
There are third party utilities that can get the job done.

Correct manual syncing has always been one way from the Mac to an iPhone/iPad. Purchased music from the iPhone, can be downloaded from the iTunes store on the Mac.
