You have Local Snapshots if your TM has been on, you do not need external drive for this; fact is unplug it if so or turn it off temporarily if you have been using an external TM drive.

Why?
Time Machine granularity is about an hour at best, give or take, if it's been setup to do automatic updates.

Some apps have a restore option ex Textedit.app
If you want to restore the entire "MacBook Pro" or if just your user select the "MacIntosh HD">Users> your User Account (Or your "Home folder icon" in the sidebar.)
in the Finder sidebar. If you do not se it Locations change that in Finder Settings.
