I have enabled “Ask Reason for Calling” and it’s not working. My language and region is correct. I called my phone myself from a number that has never called before and it just rings as normal. I continue to get spam/telemarketing calls that ring through as normal. My phone is update to iOS 26.3
Am I missing something? Are others having the same issue? Fixes?

Does your carrier offer and are you using any carrier based call filtering? This may interfere with Siri based on device filtering. You may need to contact your carrier to confirm filtering is turned off for your account.
Was the phone you used to call yourself signed into your Apple account?
It was not. I have a friend in the hospital who also called me from the hospital phone which is a number that has never called before and he told me the call went straight through. I also continue to receive telemarketing/spam calls that are coming right through. Not showing me a transcript of anything before the calls come through.
I suspect it may work in USA on mainstream providers and maybe nowhere else. I have no evidence it works for me so I don't use until I can test it, and never got round to it.
I just let all calls thru and double click the power button if I don't recognise the caller,
I will reach out to T-Mobile and ask. I know T-Mobile offers and uses their own Spam caller ID. I think I can turn that off myself in my settings. I will try that and if that doesn’t work I will reach out to them.

I’ve tried everything. I guess this is a feature I cannot use. Maybe it just doesn’t like iPhone 14 Pro Max. Maybe one day I’ll upgrade to a newer phone and it will work then. Appreciate the help everyone!

I'm not Jeff, but do use Ask Reason for Calling and it works fine. My carrier is AT&T and I also have their app installed, which protects from spam calls. But Ask Reason for Calling works well on my iPhone 17 Pro Max.
BTW, my phone is updated to the current iOS 26.4.2.
I live in the US and use T-Mobile as my provider. I will reach out to them as another commenter on here suggested and see if that’s the problem.

Mine was working when ios 26 was introduced bt its not working i dont know where is the problem
