Mac mini not recognizing Dell S2725QS monitor

Mini Mac M4 computer connected to Dell S2725QS monitor is not being recognized. Tried different HDMI ports, cables, tried connection to both HDMI and USB-C port on the Mac. Computer has starting sound and light is on.


Connected the Dell monitor to an old 2010 Mac mini and the monitor comes right up.


This is the second Mac mini I received and both act the same way. I don’t know what else I can do. It should be a simple plug and play connection. The Dell monitor is also new and according to the research is very compatible with Mac.

Long poor quality HDMI cables like the one that shipped with Dell display won't cut it with the new Mac mini's.


Test a short 3.3 ft 8K Certified Ultra High Speed 2.1 HDMI cable.
