How to cast or mirror iPhone screen to PC on windows 11?

Got my first iPhone 17 Pro and look for a way to mirror iphone screen to my PC. I see the iPhone mirroring app on my wife's macbook pro. Unfortunately, Windows 11 OS seems not providing any tool for doing this. Does anyone know a good and easy way to let me mirror iPhone to PC? Mostly, I plan to watch live streams and videos on my pc as the screen size is much bigger.

Thank you

iPhone 17 Pro

Windows 11 does not include any built‑in feature that can receive AirPlay, so an iPhone cannot mirror to a Windows PC the same way it can to a Mac. The Screen Mirroring option on iPhone only works with AirPlay receivers, and Windows is not one by default.

To mirror an iPhone 17 Pro to a Windows 11 PC, you need to install a third‑party AirPlay receiver app on the PC. Apps such as Reflector, AirServer, and 5KPlayer are commonly used for this. Once installed, the PC will appear in Control Center under Screen Mirroring, and the iPhone will treat it the same way it treats a Mac or Apple TV.

These apps work well for watching live streams, videos, or general screen mirroring, and they do not require cables or special hardware. Windows simply does not provide this functionality on its own.

Screen mirroring from iphone to PC is much more challenging than on a Mac as Windows 11/10 does not come with a native tool for do that. Here are two test ways for mirror iphone to pc based on my past experience.

Option 1: SkyMirrorTo (Easy & Professional Solution)

SkyMirrorTo is a dedicated iPhone screen mirroring tool for Windows. It supports both USB and wireless connections, offering stable performance and high resolution.

Basic steps for mirroring iphone to pc:

  1. Install SkyMirrorTo on your Windows PC.
  2. Connect iPhone via USB (recommended for stability).
  3. Trust the computer on your iPhone.
  4. Start mirroring inside the app.

Best for: Presentations, app demos, gameplay recording, or stable long sessions.

Option 2: Use AirPlay to stream video or mirror the screen of your iPhone or iPad

AirPlay is Apple’s built-in wireless technology that lets you stream video, music, or mirror your entire iPhone or iPad screen to a compatible device like a smart TV, Apple TV, or certain Windows receivers.

How to mirror iphone to pc via AirPlay:

1. Open a video app (YouTube, Photos, Safari, etc.).

2. Tap the AirPlay icon (📺 with triangle).

3. Select your TV or AirPlay-compatible device.

4. The video plays on the big screen while your device stays usable.

Option 3: Command Line Solution for iPhone Screen Casting

iPhone does not support scrcpy (that’s Android only). However, you can combine an AirPlay receiver with command line automation. One example is using LonelyScreen.

How it works for casting iphone to pc:

1. Install an AirPlay receiver (e.g., LonelyScreen).

2. Launch it via Command Prompt:

start "" "C:\Program Files\LonelyScreen\LonelyScreen.exe"

3. On iPhone → Control Center → Screen Mirroring.

4. Select your Windows 11/10 PC.

5. You can also automate startup with a batch file for quick mirroring.

Best for: Users who prefer lightweight setup or automation scripts.

Frequently asked questions about mirroring iphone to pc

1. Can I mirror iPhone to PC without installing software?

Not directly. Windows does not natively support AirPlay. You need third-party software such as SkyMirrorTo or an AirPlay receiver.

2. Is USB mirroring better than wireless?

Yes. USB provides:

  • Lower latency
  • More stable connection
  • Better for gaming or live streaming

Wireless is convenient but may lag.

3. Can I control my iPhone from PC?

Most mirroring tools allow viewing and recording only. Full control of iPhone from Windows is limited due to Apple’s iOS restrictions.

The Connect app in Windows (also called Wireless Display) allows your PC to act as a wireless display receiver. While it was originally designed for Miracast (mainly Android/Windows devices), newer Windows 11 builds allow limited compatibility when paired with AirPlay receiver support or additional configuration.

How to mirror iphone to pc on windows 11/10:

Step 1: Open Settings on Windows. Go to System → Projecting to this PC (or Optional Features).

Step 2: Click Add an optional feature. Install Wireless Display. Restart your PC if required.

Step 3: Press Windows + K or search for Connect in the Start menu. The PC will now be ready to receive screen casting. You should see a message like: “Your PC is ready for you to connect wirelessly.”

Step 4: Make sure iPhone and PC are on the same Wi-Fi network. Now, open Control Center on iPhone. Tap Screen Mirroring.

Step 5: Select your PC from the device list. Enter the code shown on your PC if prompted. Your iPhone screen should now appear on your Windows PC.

Important Notes

  • Native Windows Connect works best with Miracast (Android).
  • Some Windows versions may not detect iPhone directly without AirPlay-compatible software.
  • If your PC does not appear, you may need an AirPlay receiver app to cast iphone screen to pc.

Using Windows 11's built-in "Wireless Display" feature to mirror iPhone to PC is a convenient way to display content wirelessly. However, it's important to note that Windows 11's "Wireless Display" primarily supports Miracast, which is compatible with many Android devices and Windows devices.

Mirror iPhone to PC: Since iPhones do not natively support Miracast, you cannot directly use "Wireless Display" on Windows 11 to mirror your iPhone screen. Instead, you'll need to use a third-party app designed for iOS device screen mirroring.
