Music MinPlayer has reared it's ugly head today - for no apparent reason. I have NOT checked "Keep MiniPlayer on Top..." in Advanced Settings, and I have closed and re-started the App.
How can it be closed or hid?

Well, that brought up a second mini-player, so perhaps I don't know what to call what I see. I have attached a screenshot of both Players, the new one in center screen now appearing upon using Cmd/Option/M. This smaller one toggles on and off with that expert command- thus "the mini-player) The second one that is new that I want to get rid of is the oblong one at bottom of screen. It is there continuously.
