AirPlay stopped working after installing IOS 26.3! Help!

Is anyone else having problems using AirPlay after installing IOS 26.3? It worked fine before and now it just throws an error message saying “Uh oh! Something went wrong” when I invoke the AirPlay icon to cast videos on ANY of my TVs. I tried resetting Network settings … still didn’t work. I spoke to Apple Support 2nd level and they said it must be Microsoft OneDrive. I spoke Microsoft and they said the problem was not at their end but is an Apple issue! Back and forth finger pointing with no help in sight. Help!

Perhaps a long shot:

Do you have a 3rd party VPN installed, even if you are not using it? If so, delete the VPN profile in Settings/General/VPN & Device Management/VPN, then restart your device. Don't just turn it off; delete the profile. Updates sometimes "break" VPN, and it needs to be removed. If that fixes it, you can try reinstalling VPN, but probably shouldn't.

AirPlay issues are not always the fault of iOS updates!  Many things can cause phone problems.  If you tell people you think it's an iOS update, it might make it harder to fix or find a solution for the real issue.

Remember, the right question often leads to the solution!

Was/Is your device Jailbroken? If that's the situation, please be informed that attributing the issues to iOS updates may not be accurate.

iOS updates aim to enhance user experience, boost security, and fix bugs rather than disrupt core features. The majority of the issues after updates might stem from underlying, unmentioned factors. Updates won't typically alter personal data but may refine settings or features. Backup before major updates for safety. Review Apple's update details and backup advice for a smooth process.

Kindly consider checking your settings and addressing any device issues before attributing the issue to external factors. This could be a pure coincidence that the iOS update affected the iPhone functions.

Before initiating a standard iOS update, it's advisable to create a backup. Have you completed this step? If yes, proceed with the restoration from the backup.

I conducted a thorough search of this forum using the term 'AirPlay issues after iOS Update' and uncovered numerous posts detailing similar issues across various iOS updates. This suggests that iOS updates may not consistently be the root cause. Below are a handful of examples extracted from the search results:

AirPlay not Working after iOS 16 Update

Re: AirPlay Broken After iOS 17.2.1 Update

Re: AirPlay 2 connectivity issues after updating to iPadOS 18.3.2—anyone else expriencing this?..

Airplay does not work after iOS 16 update

Re: Screen share & Airplay not working after iOS 16.4 update

Unable to fix AirPlay streaming issues from iPhone 16 Pro to Apple TV after18.4.1 update...

Airplay not working after upgrade to iOS 17.1.1

The above issues span many models, and iOS updates suggest the issues reported by many are device-specific and erroneously attributed to iOS updates.
