There is a "rumor" site with a Buying Guide that has "Buy Now", "Caution", and "Don't Buy" advisories based on that – but I don't believe Apple would want posting links to it here.

According to the MacTracker database, all "regular" iPads to date came out in February, March, April, September, or October. Between 2019 and 2022, there were yearly releases of "regular" iPads in September or October, and then there was a big wait until the current iPad (A16) came out in March 2025.

I would suggest that the OP wait a few days until Apple's "big event" on March 9.

This week, there have been several new product releases:

• iPhone 16e and M4 iPad Air on Monday
• M5 MacBook Airs, M5 Pro MacBook Pros, and M5 Max MacBook Pros on Tuesday
• MacBook Neo – a budget MacBook based on the A18 Pro chip from the iPhone – today

In the past, when an "Apple event" has been near, Apple has tended to hold off on new product announcements until the event, so they can use the event to make a "big splash".

They're clearly doing things differently this time, and if they are releasing a wave of major products over several days, that might suggest that there could be further product announcements tomorrow and Friday. There are of course no guarantees as to whether they will release anything, but it can't hurt to wait and see.

Which iPad? Apple makes 4 different models of iPad. iPad Pro, iPad Air, Regular iPad and iPad Mini.

They just revealed the iPad Air with M4 chip today, and will be available for pre-order tomorrow at 6:15am Pacific and is set to be available in stores March 11th.

They have not made mention of any other iPad model release date yet.
