Apple TV (2016) has playback speed issues after tvOS update

2016 AppleTV Speed Issue - After the most recent tvOS update on my 2016 AppleTV, it seems to be having speed issues. While watching any app (Xfinity, Netflix, Hulu, etc,) it goes from regular playback speed to 1.5x and the only way to fix it is if I restart AppleTV and then it lasts for about two days before it starts again. I know it is 10 years old, but is there a fix or is it just their way of forcing me to get a new one? Thanks.

It’s been the same for me since the end of February. It never happened before. And it’s not just in one app (HBO Max, MrMC). Sometimes it plays too fast and skips half a word several times a minute, other times it’s too slow. It’s annoying to have to restart Apple TV every time, but nothing else works. Sometimes it lasts for a few days, other times I have to restart it several times a night.

Both the app and Apple TV are up to date.

Hopefully it will be fixed soon!

I just noticed this too, but I thought it was just me. I was watching Deep Space Nine this morning and thought everyone was talking about bit faster than normal. Hopefully they can fix this soon.
