Old Final Cut Pro X Trial downloads for legacy projects.

There are occasions when we or someone else needs an old version of FCP to re-edit an ancient project.

Usually this results in a plea to anyone possessing the old version but there is a repository of links to all the old Trial Versions of FCP.

I have checked and the download links appear to be the official Apple ones.

So the 60/90 day time limit on them should be sufficient to get that important project re-edited.

Unfortunately there is no similar place where you can download earlier Macs with which to edit them! 😳

I have an old mid-2010 Mac Pro (my original MAC) that still has FCP 7 installed. It's been upgraded with an SSD for the operating system and apps. I have HDMI switches on my monitors and a USB3 switch for the media drives which enables me to switch between them in seconds.

I often have to go back and open an old FCP 7 project to export the XML. I then go back to the Mac Mini and use the SENDtoX app to get it into FCP 12.

I would be pleased to do this for anyone here that has to do go back to an old FCP 7 project for re-editing. I'll do it pro bono - no charge. You just bear the costs of shipping any data drives that may be involved. I can also access files online via all the popular methods.

As time goes by the need to access old FCP 7 projects becomes less and less important, but you never know when you might have to do this.
