There are third party iPhone apps available in many markets that monitor some sleep activity.
When using the iPhone alone, the Health app provides the following metrics and tools. You can set a goal for sleep duration and establish a consistent bedtime and wake-up time. The iPhone estimates your time in bed by tracking when you last used your phone at night and when you first picked it up in the morning. You cannot turn your iPhone off at night. You can enable a Sleep Focus mode that reduces distractions before bed and dims the screen. You can set specialized sleep alarms with unique tones that differ from standard iPhone alarms. You can manually add sleep data by entering Asleep start and end times directly into the Health app.
If you require more detailed metrics without a watch, several third-party apps utilize the iPhone's microphone and accelerometer to provide deeper insights. Uses non-contact sonar technology to measure movement and breathing from your nightstand, providing sleep cycle analysis. Analyzes sleep patterns using sound or vibration detection to wake you during your lightest sleep phase. Specifically records sounds like snoring, talking, or coughing that may indicate sleep issues. Allows manual logging of sleep times to track Sleep Rhythm and Sleep Efficiency over time.
You will need to plug your iPhone into a wall charger or place on a stand near the bed. The iPhone must be left on.
