Pixelmator Pro layers panel missing when editing from Photos

Please ignore this post. I seem unable to delete it.

I restarted Photos (Needed to Force Quit it first), then it worked properly.

I am unable to see the layers panel in Pixelmator Pro.

Using MacOS 26.3, Pixelmator Pro 3.7.1 & Photos 11.0.

If I start to edit a photo in Apple Photos, click the ellipsis and select Edit with Pixelmator Pro, the image opens but I cannot see the layers panel. Searching the Internet suggested command-1 and somewhere else command-2, neither of which work. I know that I can creating a layer because I can make a selection and this creates a layer. Adjustments then pertain only to this layer selection. However, I then seem unable to deselect this layer and adjust the rest of the image. If I start Pixelmator Pro and select an image from the Photos Library in the file menu everything works as expected, with the layer panel on the left-hand side. I assume I'm doing something wrong so any help would be much appreciated.
