How to resolve 'No Wireless NIC plug in' error with USB wireless adapter on macOS Ventura 13.7.8?

My Mac runs on Ventura 13.7.8. My WiFi wont connect so I have installed a USB wireless adapter but after loading the software I still can’t connect to WiFi with USB icon showing a message “No Wireless NIC plug in”. Please can anyone help me?

Why don't you take a step back and explain what happens when you try to connect using the built in WiFi adapter.
