Emails going straight to the Deleted folder on an iPhone 17 Pro usually means a server‑side rule or a mis‑assigned mailbox is telling the phone to treat new mail as trash.
1. Open Settings ➡️ Mail ➡️ Accounts ➡️ select your email account ➡️ Account ➡️ Advanced ➡️ check Mailbox Behaviors.
2. Make sure Deleted Mailbox is set to Trash on the server, not Inbox or Archive.
3. Open Settings ➡️ Mail ➡️ Blocked Sender Options ➡️ set Move to Trash OFF to prevent accidental filtering.
4. Open your email provider’s webmail (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud) ➡️ check Rules/Filters and delete any rule that moves mail to Trash.
5. Restart the iPhone to reload Mail settings.
If mail is still going to Deleted, the server is applying a filter that the iPhone cannot override.
