Does Apple offer Sky Sports F1 broadcast replays?

Is there a replay option for the Sky Sports F1 broadcast? I already cannot stand the commentary on the F1 TV broadcast, but sometimes I cannot watch every race, practice, quali, etc. live. But I cannot find links to replays of the Sky Sports Broadcast (just replay links for the F1 TV broadcast which as stated previously, I don't like the commentators, I miss the Sky Sports crew Crofty, Brundle, Ted, et al). ESPN always had the replays available on demand. Will apple be doing the same?

  1. Open the F1 page in the Apple TV app.
  2. Select the race weekend (for example “Australian Grand Prix”).
  3. Scroll down past the normal replay.
  4. Look for a separate item like: “[Session] — Sky Sports Broadcast”

Play that replay instead. That stream includes the Sky Sports presenters and commentary (Crofty, Brundle, etc.), not the F1TV commentators.

The process stated above does not work. I have found no way to view the Sky 1 replay on AppleTV. You can only view this while it is live. I really wish this were not the case. However, with your AppleTV subscription and a free F1TV login, you can do this. On the F1TV app, while the race replay is playing, press the center select button on the remote and on the right will show all of the feeds, drivers, etc. select “International” and you will have your friends on Sky 1 commentary.

UPDATE AND FIX AS OF 5/7/2026:

US Apple TV subscribers get access to F1 TV by creating/linking their Apple TV Account to their F1 TV account.

If you watch from the F1 TV App instead of the Apple TV app and select 'English Int.' audio you can still access SkySports broadcast coverage even 3+ days after the live event broadcast.

I still stand by my below original post on this thread... Apple - if you're reading - this has been an absolute HORRIBLE experience for existing F1 fans trying to watch races/sprints/qualifying with the coverage they're used to.....

I finally found the SkySports versions by scrolling way, way down on the Formula 1 tab to F1 Past Races. I will note that I did initially "Add" them to my favorites list before hand, (which was also very difficult to find). But the final Sky races are still available on my Apple TV App on my laptop which I use AirPlay to watch on my smart tv. For some reason the AppleTV app on my LG smart tv is inoperable. I've reloaded it several times with no joy.

Not any longer. It seems that about the end of Wednesday they removed all Sky Sports coverage of the Australian Grand Prix.

I’ve tried many different search terms but no joy.

I’m hoping this is just another (of many) bug from Apple from a programmer who learned how to code by watching YouTube videos and doesn’t know how to move items in linked lists.

I called their support line and after two escalations and well over an hour on the phone the nice support person didn’t have any idea what happened or if it was intentional or a bug. That person is off today (March 12, 2026) and tomorrow but will look further into it this weekend.

So right now, my only option to see the race is the F1TV version.

I’m hoping for a quick solution to this since I like to watch them in order. 😕

There’s no “fix” as in a technical problem. Broadcast rights, licensing, production costs (removing commercials). The fact that we get skysports, which themselves are independent broadcaster is cool! Most likely it’s just value added. Skysports might get the revenue from spots in their broadcast that are aired. If that’s the case Apple would have remove them post airing. All that aside F1 has their own broadcast cost or licensed out to production company and it wouldn’t be in their best interests to see Sky be hanging around in “on demand”.

Yes, the Sky Sports replays have been available during the race weekend. The issue is that they then disappear within a few days after the weekend.

If Apple has fixed this then the replays should be there at least through the whole F1 season.

Given Apples track record, I don't have a lot of hope for a fix any time soon. They seem to prioritize getting the user interface to look nice. But actual functionality seems to be not too important to them.

I'm a pretty big Apple fan but it's really been an abysmal experience trying to watch F1 on the Apple TV app now that they have the rights in the US.

I too can confirm I am suffering from this poorly handled nightmare of how to find SkySports coverage and learning it has a shelf life for how long it can be accessed after races.

Apple, you already made it as hard as it possibly could have been to even find the SkySports steams of the events with the coverage that anyone who has followed the sport in the US knows and loves and now without warning SkySports broadcast replays now disappear from past events so anyone catching up after who knows how many days because you won't tell us - Apple - the only option is to watch coverage from the Apple TV commentary team.

Really frustrating experience from what has historically been the leader of best-in-class user experiences for anyone and wants coverage continuity of Crofty and co. from past seasons to this season now that Apple has the contract...

To make sure its specifically stated, as a US viewer for the past 5+ years of F1 coverate I was able to watch any race, qual, sprint and sprint qual with SkySports commentary for up to 9-12 months after the event aired without having to jump through even half the hoops I've had to do with Apple so far this season from past service providers.......

Even the search trick mentioned in other comments is not working for me unfortunately...
