If the Delete button is missing for an iOS update file in iPhone Storage, it means the update is either already installed, currently preparing, or partially applied, so iOS won’t allow removal.

1) Check where the update stands

Open Settings ➡️ General ➡️ Software Update ➡️ see if it shows Installed, Preparing Update, or Verifying.

2) If the update is already installed

The file is auto‑removed by iOS, so the Delete Update button will not appear in iPhone Storage.

3) If the update is preparing or verifying

iOS locks the file, and the delete option stays hidden until the process completes or fails.

4) If you want to remove it but no delete button appears

Restart the iPhone and then check the iOS update entry again in iPhone Storage. If the delete option still does not appear, the update is not eligible for deletion and must remain until the system finishes or replaces it.

To improve my understanding of the phenomenon, it would be highly beneficial if you could share a full screenshot (Do not crop it). Visual representations carry a greater impact than written descriptions.

Please remember that this is a public forum, so when attaching a screenshot, please avoid including any personal credentials such as IP addresses, card details, email IDs, Apple IDs, IMEI numbers, serial numbers, phone numbers, order IDs, or any identifiable location information if you are sharing a map.

With the limited information that you have provided, It is hard to even guess the problems faced by you.
