MacBook Air: Cannot manually arrange desktop icons
MacBook Air: iOS 26.3.1 (25D2128) update - I was playing around with the view option and now I cannot get back to my original setting.
In my original view, I was able to freely move any document/folder/pic etc to any place on the screen I wanted it to be. Now I can't move anything; and on top of that there are things stacked on top of one another (when the Stacks button is Deselected)
When the Stacks button is selected, the screen is a lot cleaner, but now it is separated by tags or no tags and I STILL CANNOT move anything to where I want it.
How do I get rid of these settings? There appears to be nothing in the View options (when in Finder/desktop view) to return to my manual setting to arrange my desktop. This makes it impossible to manually locate the screenshots I took to change them to jpeg files so that they would upload to this site.
Isn't is interesting that the default setting for an Apple product screenshot is .png, but you cannot upload it to the Apple Support Community chat. And if you could, you'd all be able to see the three screenshots (including a Finder window view of my desktop) that would show how impossible it is to be able to manually find anything. I can go on and on.
I had a system for how I manually organized my desktop. I knew where everything was. Now I don't know where anything is. One I get this back I will never click on the Finder menu View option ever again. Ever.
