Conflict between Voice Control and SIRI
Why is there conflict between Voice Control and SIRI? I'm a quadriplegic and have to use Voice Control for everything. I have been doing so on my iPad Pro, now for three years and understand all the nuances in controlling this device. Things worked reasonably well with iPadOS 17.x, with no real issues. Things got a little tougher with iPadOS 18.x but still, there were workarounds. All that changed with iPadOS 26.x. Not only will SIRI, not vocally respond completely to commands(shortcuts), without voice control mic being on but increasingly, it has crashed my iPad completely and has made it nearly impossible for me to contact a family member to help me reset the device. They only are their problems with SIRI and Voice Control but because I have to use overlays in order to navigate, now certain apps are draining my battery if I stay on them more than a couple of minutes, even when, I am directly plugged into a power source. I depend on this device for everything from communications with family members that I live with in my house, to finances, to writing had a whole list of other things. Apple has changed Pages and Numbers to the point where there are almost unusable with Voice Control!
I don't know if this community has any answers and I doubt if Apple advisors can help me out either, short of showing up to Cupertino with my iPad with some of their senior software engineers and walking them through every problem people like me have to go through just to use their device. Maybe, this is just a vent and no one in the community will actually have real solutions to my problems but I have been using Apple products for 33 years, with my disability and this is the first time I've really been upset with the project that the company is giving us, especially the disabled. Just in the amount of time it took me to write this, the second picture, shows you the problem about battery usage when being plugged in to a power source.
