Voice Control Keeps on Activating

Hi, I just got the iphone4 and went performing the normal sync. Upon completion, suddenly the voice control gets activated without being called upon. It does that all the time and it's getting annoying.

How can I get rid of this?

Iphone 4, iOS 4, nil

People keep suggesting that turning off Siri fixes the problem but for many people this isn't working. I turned off Siri a month ago and now I have the exact same problem with voice control

Activating randomly... like whenever I move my phone with headphones in. My podcasts also speed up and slow down or stop playing randomly.... this only happens when I listen to podcasts which ***** because I listen to them every day on my walks.... I've tried 3 different pairs of headphones so the only thing I can think of now is maybe the wires are loose in all 3? This is getting ridiculous... i also can't believe that someone from Apple hasn't chimed in yet with a solution as I believe this thread started in 2013.

This happens on my 4 and my 5 and is so infuriating. Mostly it's running, but today was just walking with the phone on my pocket and music was unusable. Raise to speak is turned off for Siri and my 4 is obviously just activating the dumb voice control. I've never seen a solution to this, or seen Apple address this in any way. Drives me out of my mind.

How's it going folks?? I have the same problem. It's starting to really do my head in. I'm tempted to smash my 4S against a wall. I was watching a Youtube Video today, with my earphones in and Voice Control pops up as I tilt the phone and then the last tune on the music app starts. It's really frustrating. There has to be a fix to this. It's gone beyond a joke at this stage... I need help please...

Hi there, at last others with the same issue!! My problem was with the iPod touch 5, Siri would come on for no reason, then when that was disabled voice control would activate which was worse. I returned it, got a replacement but same problem.

I Sent it to Apple for a fix but they could not find a problem. I have now returned it again. I really like Apple products but this is seriously doing my head in, I'll try once more when I get my refund through, but with headphones without microphone to see if that works.

Let me know if you get any help with this I will try anything at this point!!

F-that, whiskey.

I'd like to take this minute and thank Apple for educating me and showing me that your products are truly overrated.

Ive had a 3gs for 2 years. Happy as can be. Then things started to get wonky.

itunes is sluggish and hoards memory.

Then you gave the phones a Glass cover. That would shatter like apple splatter.

Then you came out with phones with even MORE glass. I coulda swore you were meth makers.

F u.

Im glad to never have another product again.

Same thing to my Iphone 5! Siri and my music player causing my phone call to drop. I was just in my phone with my dad from other country who I rarely have the time to talk to and out of nowhere music just randomly started playing causing our calls to drop. This have been going on for weeks now before I even update it to 6.1.4. Though I thought updating it would solve the problem but It didnt. I reallyyy want this to be fix or at least give me sime solution!

My wife's iPhone 4 just started doing the majic voice control thing while sitting on the table (no headphones).

I think I remember this happening a year or two ago and I think the soltion was to clean either the headphone jack or the charging slot (with a non-conductive object like the corner of a thick piece of paper).

I just did it and will see if that works.

The problem as I remember is dirt in the connector is shorting out the contacts that are in charge of activating the external instance of the home button.
