Better Laser Printer for Mac, than HP?

Now that hp has gone "anti customer" with Apple, what brand of laser printer is recommended for Mac users?

Mac mini, macOS 26.4

"I guess it must depend on the make/model. My brother's had one for a couple of years and he only prints a few pages a month when he does his accounts. I'm his telephone tech support and he's never phoned me about it so it's problem free. I don't know the model but it was the cheapest one in the shop with a tank and a scanner (no feed, just a flat bed). I think it was about £200."

Eco-Tank Not Drying Up for a Couple of Pages:

That's 24 pages/year. That doesn't add up, even over 100 years. I know Brother makes such a printer, but it is not officially an eco-tank series, despite the name: INKvestment Tank Printer - Brother. It gives you not even close to the number of output pages. So, I would suspect that is what he is using. As for the price, I'v seen them go down -- extensively -- but, that seems to occur only during promotions where if you recycle a printer --you save another 50 off.

Epson has done it on their inkjet cartridges.

I am the same as you, I would not chance 3rd party inkjet cartridges and have had not so great experiences with them in the past even before chipping.

However, I had used 3rd party laser cartridges for years with HP LaserJets without any issue before the chipping era.

What is problematic is the dropping of OS printer support for perfectly good printers.

While the 3rd party ink you use may not have damaged your printer, it has happened to others. YMMV.

Further, I do not trust the formulations of any 3rd party inks. Epson & HP inks have been properly formulated for their printers and papers and tested for color accuracy and longevity. You cannot trust that with any 3rd party ink. Well-known paper manufacturers also test Epson & HP inks with their papers and some even create icc profiles for them. You're not going to get that level of QA testing with no-name inks.
